Rating deflation in 960? Time for a fix?

Is there rating deflation in 960? My experience suggests there is (more often than not my opponent is rated 100 or 200 points lower in 960 than in standard chess, and I don't recall seeing someone rated higher in 960 than in standard). Can some kind of lichess-wide calculation of the average difference in players' ratings between standard and 960 be attempted, and can this figure (however rough it may be) be used to implement some kind of corrective ratings adjustment for all 960 players? It might be a crude corrective measure (ie adding 100 points to all ratings) but perhaps the deflation in 960 ratings (if it exists, and I presume the stats will confirm it) is discouraging people from playing the variant. They see their lower rating and think "I am worse at this than normal chess, why bother"?
Rating deflation in 960 because of the small pool seems to be a fairly common phenomenon on chess servers, the most striking example being NM Amazingoid in the icc pools: his rating in the 960 pool is 2029 after 2000 games, and that is his peak 960 rating. It is 250-300 points below his ratings in the other pools (1,3,5,15).
I don't have scientific evidence, but I would guess the 960 ratings on lichess are significantly deflated. If that's true.....it's not really cool to have one's efforts devalued :p I totally understand why it puts people off 960, if it does. It would be nice if lichess could intervene in some way.
Sorry mods, this thread should be in the feedback sub-forum....
Strange thing. There are 26,308 bullet players this month. And in blitz and classical there are 50,000-55,000. But bullet ratings are much higher. So maybe it depends not only on amount of players?
In antichess and 960 there are almost the same amount this month. But in antichess ratings are higher.
What it can depend on?
It is a very interesting mystery :) I would write a book on it if I had a spare 5000 hours :)
Why does it matter if your rating is higher/lower? You have the absolute ranking, and the ranking with one player vs another. You really do not need more than that :)
Well you are right, logically. But I am a human being, and human beings take more pleasure in 1950 than 1850 :p Also I make commentary vids and people are more likely to watch a guy pushing for 2000.
I see your point ;)

I watched a couple of your videos. You made me start playing the three checks variant yesterday :P Good job!
Wow......in all honesty that is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me :p Thanks a lot :)
