live streams

There is some bug (I don't know what bug) or simply a mistake, look at this stream:
http://www.twitch.tv/zugaddict/b/618607433
this has been going on for some two weeks now I believe

The guy is a national master, alright he sometimes gives his way, but normal persons don't get traumatized by some stray f word or something like that, there are 10 times worse words coming out from many players here who never get banned due to it. His stream isn't advertised, instead we have to watch some, pardon me, "chess master", clicking on squares for hours on end, and no, it is very popular, in fact it seemed to top the charts, but whoever my like that, I personally might as well stare out the window.

So why isn't his stream advertised - did he got banned or is it simply a glitch? He said he won't report it himself, and since apparently none else does...
I think during one of his streams he played a youtube video with copyrighted music in it or something and thus lost his status with lichess.
I don't watch all his streams, but occasionally when I have time, - so I might have missed it. At least you can learn something from this guy (unless perhaps you are Magnus Carlsen etc.), I think he should have learned his lesson by now. So where is the actual problem? Did lichess got fined 10K for this? I don't believe so... Did he got banned out of twitch TV? Also negative. Some sort of music company might sue him, but there aren't any millions to gain there so negative. I do not advocate piracy, - it destroys the very thing it thrives on, since hardly anyone will be able or motivated to make quality stuff without adequate pay, but one short music clip and you replace a chess master with empty square clicking?

I explained the issue, many times, in the twitch chat. I'll do it again here, it's more persistent.

To be featured on lichess homepage, one needs to comply with a few rules. They are described on this page: http://en.lichess.org/how-to-stream-on-lichess

I am picky about what is featured on the homepage, of course. It makes 260,000 page views every day, to it's my responsibility to ensure great content quality.

Imagine if you arrived on lichess.org, found a "LIVE" link on the homepage, clicked it, only to find a stream unrelated to chess, where nobody is even talking. It would be quite a trust breaker, and it's unlikely you would click it again; maybe you wouldn't even get back to lichess, out of disappointment.

And that's exactly what happened.

The first times, I warned Zug nicely in the chat, and he got back to chess, or changed his stream title to get out of lichess homepage. I appreciated it.
Then it happened again, and again.
I started unfeaturing the stream manually when it was unrelated to chess, to featured it back later on.
However I don't have the same sleep schedule that Zug has (I'm french, he's in USA) so I can't always be here to ensure the stream quality.

So it was my regret to permanently unfeature Zug from lichess. Even if I wanted to, I physically can't play stream police all the time. And so I told him, in twitch chat.

Now, let's get things straight. Zug is not banned. Just, his stream is not featured on the homepage.
If you think about it, the same applies to a lot of streamers who also would like to be on lichess homepage, but also don't want to comply with lichess streaming rules.
It's all right! People are free to stream whatever they want.
And I'm free to display what I want on my site homepage.

I wish Zug would speak up for himself here, and I hope he reads this.

Thank you for the hour spent investigating the "lichess enhancement" chrome extension bug.
Thank you for your games, your energy, your piano improvisations! Thanks for the streams, I love watching them, and I'll continue doing so, even if you play on ICC.

I watched http://www.twitch.tv/zugaddict/b/618607433, where you say lichess "is sold", that it's a "silly site". I hope you didn't mean it.

I hope you can still find some appeal to lichess, even if it is not featuring your stream any more than the other chess sites.
The trust breaker was that square clicking chess master, clicking on squares for hours. Hastily banning some newcomer IMs (although thank you for unbanning him), not banning real cheaters despite them having first place (all it took for cheater to avoid banning was being some ~2000 FIDE rated player himself and play only about half game with engine), not to count all those less prominent cheaters who simply abound this site without perhaps ever getting banned.
Also why you ban good streams with faults, when you don't have anything else to offer?
I believe the real reason you banned him was that he somehow offended you perhaps with those 'silly site' and 'sold' remarks. If you would have watched his videos he many times said that lichess is a great site etc. Also you would have learned that you shouldn't take everything he says in a direct meaning, sometimes he is just joking.
I very rarely saw him do anything than play or talk about chess. There are far worse trust breakers here you should worry about - cheaters, horrible chat bullies etc. Although I have already said that the site is good, for a free site it is excellent - almost, but trust breakers like banning the strongest chess player that streams here and good players (like as if bots were ordinary here and you shouldn't analyse those cases deeply) are really putting off the site.
So in short - he was trouble + probably offended site. I don't believe viewers really care about those factors you listed (I definitely do not), but since, as I understand, it is your site, and he was troublesome for you, there is really nothing more to say here. Thank you for replay.
Sounds reasonable to me, thibault. Thanks for the explanation.
