Lichess Bundesliga celebrates 2 million registrations

The Lichess Bundesliga has written a history of almost 4 years since its first edition on March 13th, 2020.

Lichess Bundesliga All-time table

Since the start of Covid in 2020, the league has now stabilized and usually welcomes around 400+ teams in between 4000-5000 players in each edition, graphic in detail.

In the Lichess Bundesliga All-time table, The House Discord Server still has a solid advantage over SK 1962 Ladenburg e.V. with a bit more than 35000 total team points:

Thanks to Thijscom who provides a great analysis of Lichess rankings. The ranking is based on 17000+ events held between Mar 19, 2020 and Nov 23, 2023. In total, Lichess Bundesliga arenas featured 10 million games (with 778 million moves), and the 1.9 million participants (146.000 unique players) scored a total of 27 million arena points. In these games, White scored 48% wins, 7% draws, and 45% losses. The average berserk rate is 20.7%, and the average rating is 2022. We hope that the table will be updated soon again :-)

How can my team participate in the Lichess Bundesliga and where do I find the links for my team?

Teams may contact me via Lichess PM anytime to get their teams added to the league. Teams can join, pause and withdraw anytime. Teams find all the information about upcoming links via tournament descriptions (if a team becomes first, it can just click on "Team 1..." in the description and it can join the future Arena shortly after the Arena ends). They can also look it up anytime also in the announcement forum with an overview of all Lichess Bundesliga team battles and an overview of all teams.

How can I create or join a team of the Lichess Bundesliga?

If you don't have a team yet, you can either create a team yourself or you can lookup any team. Some teams may accept anyone who wants to join their team, some others might choose themselves if they will let you in or not. If you want to support the team of Lichess, feel free to play in the Lichess Bundesliga for the official Lichess Discord Bundesliga Team.

Is there also a Rapid League?

Besides the Lichess Bundesliga, I also organize a Rapid League on Mondays in a similar pattern, where teams play like in the Lichess Bundesliga, just with the time controls 7+2, 7+5 and 10+0.

Last but not least I would like to take the opportunity to thank once Lichess again for making the former "Quarantine League" the official Lichess League and for the ongoing support of this project.
