Looking for an effective defence against 1.d4

Hi everyone!

I play chess since a short time and I'm looking for an effective opening against 1.d4, preferably an opening that doesn't need studying so much theory ...

What do you recommend ? Today I usually play the classic defense with e6 and Nf6 but I'm looking for something more offensive to win more games..

Some people have told me the Bogo-Indian Defence... Is it good ?

Thank you all :)
I guess you can try the Dutch, and you can choose between the Leningrad, Stonewall and Classical.
I am not quite sure what you mean with "effective" opening. If you mean solid the bogo-indian and nimzo-indian is a good choice. You have often the same plan with trading the dark square bishop and putting all center pawns on light squares. There is not much you need to study to understand the principles.
* you put your pawns on dark squares of course or else it would be a pretty crappy idea...
A simple indian system is worth looking into. The indian systems is my main choice today (I sometimes play the semi-slav in Blitz, but that's because of the extensive theory in some variations). Stonewalls can Sometimes be quite tricky - especially if your opponent knows how to mix things up:
After 1 d4 f5 2 c4 Nf6 3 g3 e6 4 Bg2 Be7 5 Nf3 O-O 6 O-O d5 some people play stuff like Nh6 which at first glance seams crazy! (It's not btw...) This move is just a single example of the theory in the stonewall. Another example is that a good positional idea sometimes is to clamp down on whites queens-side structure with a7-a5 and a5-a4 to follow.
It's a nice opening though!
A good blitz opening is something that you probably know a bit of theory on or something straight forward and simple to play. For example, I too play the slav and understand most mainlines. the opening, middlegame and endgame structures are quite familiar. Secondly, Play something simple like pawn structures and tactics that you understand and can anticipate. For instance, there are ideal and theoretical pawn structures in the Sicilian, Caro Kan, French, etc. However in blitz, and especially online blitz, sometimes it is better to be quick with a simple basic, non-theoretical system. For instance the Nimzo-Larsen Attack system, categorized by 1.b3. The Italian game: 1.e4-e5, 2. nf3-nc6, 3bc4-c5 (nf6). are normal and easy to play. You can add in b4 (Evan's gambit) to spice it up or play a simple c3, d3 to follow system.
Thank you all :) The best opening for me is apparently the Indian systems .. ? Against 1.e4 I love playing the French Defence, thanks to the similar plans in different variations.

Does someone have a reliable source of information about these good openings (for example the bogo-indian, nimzo-indian) ? :)
Just do what everyone else does and Google it.

If you don't get round to it I'll write a book on the bogo-indian tonight and mail it you tomorrow :D
There are not just the indian systems but the Gruenfeld and Benoni.
