who likes the new +500 -500 rating range?

@BimblingBob if playing some games with people between 1800-2000 scares you away from lichess, all I can say is: bye.

The devs don't seem to care whether people like it or not, which is a shame. When lichess was small, they seemed to listen and engage more. I guess that's just the way things go.

Anyway, while this change isn't going to make me seek out an alternative to lichess, it's definitely a bit annoying not to be able to make my usual seek for players at least 100 points above. Not even in casual games.

Gbtami - It doesn't "scare" me, it is just not what I choose to do and certainly not something I will be coerced into doing for no good reason. Why do you assume that any choice I make is out of fear? Playing games against these 1800-2000 players does not scare me, but it also does not attract me. Taking this choice away for no good reason has turned a previously enjoyable experience into a chore, so yes indeed, goodbye. I shall not miss your judgemental opinions about me any more than the coercive new pairing system.

@BimblingBob just because you can't or don't want to understand, it doesn't mean there was no good reason behind this change. Maybe you not noticed, but devs are tirelessly working to make lichess better and better day after day.

More options = Better. Fix it and add option to exclude provisional ratings. The new system is pure garbage. I will not play anymore until they fix it.

Restricting unrated game seeks the same way as rated may seem bad decision, but as I read in another topic from someone "it is not worth to make code more complex to maintain different settings UI for rated/unrated". Or something like this.

I personally don't like the new -500/+500 feature at all!!! The old version was much better! I need absolutely freedom for my desicion to play players who have e.g. +100 to +200!!
If they dont't want to play lower rated player, they have the right to choose in their options!!

Do me a favor and go back to the old feature, please. And don't you limt users in their desicions!!
