Separate tournament rating?

Should be separate rating for tournaments (not to risk normal rating).

What benefit would this game? You don't "risk your normal rating" more than if you play games outside tournaments.

on chesscube there is a separate rating for tourneys as well..

Berserk and big rating difference can make big damage on rating ...

That's true, but berserking is still your own choice. Big rating difference isn't, but this difference has two sides: you can play against someone much lower than you, or much higher than you. In both cases you just win or lose a small amount of rating, so it already doesn't change that much, but it also kinda equalizes.

I disagree with a lot of design choices of chesscube since they're too arbitrary and don't serve much purpose. "Chesscube does that" isn't much of a reason for implementing a separate rating system, nor can I expect it to give any benefits.

Do you really care that much about the online rating points, that you do not dare to play in tournaments because you can lose rating?? It is true that one often would have a higher rating if you can select your opponents, but that also mean that such a rating would not be representativ for the players in the pool..

I usually improve my rating in tournaments lol
