This is by far not a ridiculous suggestion. You could have a Pause button to stay at the current game ( still remaining in the Lichess TV view, seeing the upcoming games list ) and a Back to Live button. Currently if you like a game you have to click on it in the list and you fall out of the Lichess TV view and no longer see the upcoming games.
Lichess TV is a great idea, however I would suggest adding a small remote below the screen with buttons like:
1) Follow the bullet/blitz/variant chanel
2) jump to new game (default should be to stay in current game; I do not get why the games much change especially when in bullet time control the end game is like 30 seconds)
3) follow player black/white (possibly; i realize this could also be done from their profiles)
4) view games of people you follow (only active if some are online and playing; could possibly admit a drop-down menu to select a particular player)

I think some more control on Lichess TV is a great idea. The way it works right now is probably best for what most people are looking for (this is good!) , I mean we all love to watch really strong players play blitz lol.
I know I am in the minority, but sometimes I like to watch lower rated players duke it out. I can still do this on FICS, but this site has done away with the ability to view "any live game being played". Not a huge gripe, sometimes I like to watch games where I can understand the plans/tactics :-) (any idea why they sacked this feature?)

I am also very annoyed by this when watching a game and suddenly it switches to another one with no way to go back and follow the game you were so focused at. I think it's outright stupid.
Another option, which I don't particularly like, is like ICC's obseverbot (observebot.chessclub.com), the game is only switched when this one finishes. It's ok for bullet games, but for longer controls this can get ridiculous.

There already is an option to do this. Above the "Current games" part and below the match table near the bottom of the page, there is a button that says "auto switch". Click on it, and it will toggle whether you auto switch or not.
