What is the best way to play a live match with a friend, both using the android app

When you challenge someone via the player list that player doesn't get to see the challenge in the app?

I've never gotten the 'challenge a friend' where you share the game link to work.

When adding a friend I never see them as online, even if they are also active in the app at the time.

It seems like I'm missing something really simple or that this feature isn't implemented properly yet. Which one is it?

Please help. I'd love to play some hassle free live matches with some friends.

If challenging doesn't work, try to update your app.

To be specific, the challenge icon is located in the sidebar > Community > Players > <find your friend> > "Challenge to a game".

PS. While trying to type the above post while holding my phone at the same time, I dropped it brutally. Fortunately, only a shard was shed and it still works and looks perfectly find aside from a missing chunk.
