Preparing for the event of my life.

Open section.
No. Ill delete my account. Maybe Ill play as anon once a year but no more games.
@szeweningen2 I will take your advice and drop engine matches. I still want to do a few but Ill limit it to 1 a week or something like that. There is something about playing the engine that is fun to me it makes me work harder to get to the same place and I know it is playing the objective best move.
Well, as long as it is fun for you it's fine, my experience was different, it's usually just a chore with no reward as I have no chance of drawing an engine on any time control. Usually I find practice games against real people far more rewarding. Good luck and do your best :)
I found Shredder chess pretty good to play against (I have the android version), it plays realistic and pretty human like plus it does not simply drop a piece at lower levels and is still beatable.
I am not so sure if puzzle/tactics actually help the game that much I have seen some with very high tactics ratings on chess.com and they are far lower over the board, also the best puzzle solvers are not the best chess players. Maybe I am wrong but I suspect analyzing your games does you more good.
"I want to become 2000 otb then quit chess and never play again in my life."

rofl... umm ok
2000 otb was my goal to begin with. Like I said I want to do other things with my life. But I consider 2000 to be the lowest of the good players club. So my goal is to become a good player. As soon as national rating or fide hits 2000 I'm out of here and on to something else. Probably poker or putting my full undivided attention to my business.

If you know about formula one racing the world champion quit after he won his title last year. Many other athletes did it only on a much stronger scale than I am but its the same idea. I set out to do what I originally intended and I am GOING to do it.

What is the point of continuing playing chess. Its going to trap me if I keep playing. For those that will comment and say 2000 is not good its my judgement what good is and its your judgement what your version of good is. Some peoples view of good may be 2700 or 2750. Its not a question of why I want to be 2000 and not play anymore its more of a question of why my goal was 2000 to begin with. And that I just explained.

For these people in many sports that are the best of the best in chess Kasparov, Carlsen, Fischer... The giants of the sport have the vision that good was actually 2900 elo and 11 out of 11 performances were weak, in Fischers time especially.

In Formula one the giants would be Schumacher and Senna. The ones that think winning 19 out of 20 races in a season would be meek and not to standard.

I don't have that much energy to burn and I don't have the mentality of these greats but what I do have is the right vision and determination to do what I want. For me thats reaching 2000. For you it might be getting to 2100.

No idea if I made myself clear but there have been some really great people that have taught me a lot (NOT chess). So this is clear to me.

Best of luck in your tournaments and your pursuit of a 2000 FIDE rating, my friend. I believe that the best way to improve at chess quickly is to pay for it.... hire a good coach and let him/her teach you how to be a better player.
Thanks @jjeremmy77 I got two coaches and both are excellent. Since getting a second coach I noticed my ability increased a lot. Also since I started teaching myself.
What a silly topic.

"Hello people I want to improve, can you please help me, i beg you..."

And then he goes how he has two great coaches?! Then why post here and ask how to improve/! If the yare so great and you spend money on two of them then go ask them.

This guy reminds me of that character from the TV show "Friends" that wanted to become a MMA fighter because he achieved other goals.

Then he got beaten into pulp.

Also it is ridiculous to compare reaching rank 2000 in chess and then stop playing it ( for some strange reason ) to professional athletes retiring when they are on top.

You do understand they earned a lot of money and never again have to work in their life right?

Also to me it is ridiculous to waste time on reaching rank 2000 in chess and then stop playing it.

Playing chess it self is a waste of time, better to spend time with your family and do some other stuff but it is just silly to learn to play it just because you like number 2000, if you think playing it after you reach your goal then sorry to burst your bubble but you are wasting your time already.

That being said, I had even stranger goals in my life so good luck with that.
