Correspondence and Knockout Tournaments

Correspondence tournaments would be nice for those of us without much time, and knockout tournaments are simply easier to play, whether single or double elimination. Who here agrees?
Correspondence tournaments apparently met with little interest in days past. They were tried and discontinued. Of late many members have been calling for them to start up and be organized by lichess. In recent inquires of Thibault, he has said he expects them to make a return in the not to distant future. For now, it requires a developer to take an interest and write the huge amount of code needed to format and integrate such an event.
I would love correspondence tournaments but I am not sure how I can contribute to make them a reality here. Now I play tournaments on Gameknot and chess.com but I would really prefer it here. I have been coding a lot in the past in mainly C and C++ but I need some source of information to understand where to start here... ;o)
Anybody got any good links?
I'd love correspondence tournaments too.
I also play at Gameknot and Chess.com (different usernames at all sites)...
If we had them here would it be possible to have all the games start at once (or at least one game for each opponent). At Gameknot, a maximum of four games will start, so if it's an 11 player tournament... it just takes ages to finish... :(
Generally I stick to 5 player tournaments there to avoid having a tournament dragging on forever.
Hmm.. Scala is new to me... but I will of course have a look. Thank you for your link.
There are only two things that keep me playing on chess.com: daily (correspondence) tournaments and ability to save analysis in correspondence games (helps keeping all the games in mind). Would be awesome to see both functions implemeneted here!
