What do you think about changing the rules of Atomic Chess to allow the King to capture without setting off an explosion?
Thoughts?

so king could take king and no king connection anymore?
My thought is that this would cause immeasurable confusion to players who learned atomic chess from anywhere else.
seems like K+Q vs K would have to checkmate in the normal chess manner. It would also invalidate most openings.
I've actually tried this OTB with friends and it made for some pretty fun games.
Sounds like white would get a huge advantage in 1. Nf3 f6 2. Nd4 lines, because 2. ... Nh6 is no longer a deadly threat.
@rdaysky What you're forgetting is that 1. Nf3 doesn't threaten anything either :)
It would be nice if we could experiment with this rule change on lichess somehow.
Perhaps it would show up as a new variant, or perhaps it would still show up as "Atomic Chess" but allow players to select "optional rules".
This rule change would probably make me lose some serious rating points :)
