Are you enjoying Youtube?

Clickbait, videos far too long for the content and an enormous amount of meh quality.

Even serious scientists make videos with too much talking. Many videos would benefit from cutting of most of the talking. Sabine Hossenfelder is OK so far.

There are many content creators that are serious, they don't use clickbait, but they do talk too much. Is talking worth more than saying something?

The short recaps of F1 or other car races or sports event are OK. The recaps of ice hockey world championship games could even be longer, but exceptions like this aren't many.

Yes, I can rant too...
generally, I find youtube match replays to be quite generous and useful.

I don't like shorts, they are, indeed, a sort of clickbait, often of poor quality. Also, there is an alarming number of conspiracy videos, endangering the safety of users, especially young people.

nevertheless, I appreciate being able to watch some national geographic reports for free, or even concert replays

I used to be a YouTube kid, but I got annoyed with the amount of ads and boring content... and don't get me started on my fyp for yt shorts, idk where YouTube got the idea that I like watching OF creators running around asking people random shit but it's getting irritating
I switched over to Pinterest, and now that's basically what I'm on (along with Lichess) during my free time
Clickbait and thumbnails that have little to do with the actual content are annoying. One feature I do really enjoy is the search feature. I use it to visit places I've been, towns I used to live in and destinations I wish I could visit. It is also useful for finding content I might be interested in ( generally science of some type, sports I'm interested in ,musical performances or various other topics)

The reason I still watch YouTube is cuz my fyp for YouTube shorts is memes and MrBeast
Indeed yes, some of them put up an interesting thumbnail apparently showing a snippet of the video in question, and when you watch it, it's nowhere to be found. :).
Here's something a little wild. We had a ham radio tower in the backyard ( from a previous owner) and my dad got the great idea to put a TV antenna up there (you know who got to drag the antenna up there) . So we're in n.c. and we could pick up the bullfights from Mexico City,2000 miles away (I think it was a UHF signal, skip and all that). I was probably the only kid in North Carolina who knew what a picador was.
I also hauled my crystal radio antenna up there and I'd pick up transatlantic signals (I wonder who the last kid was who built a crystal radio? Edmund scientific was a pretty cool catalog back then, still around but not the same now, lotta WW2 surplus in the sixties).
