It has some visually quiet user settings or options. Its owns features are accessible without being in your face at every page (internal advertising tendency is kept in check, it seems, or that is a side-effect of minimalism).
unless other multi-player or user internet platforms, it does respect the player thinking space (when it remembers that it is one of its strength).
It does minimalist compromise to the social media flat networking tendencies (those emojis are still under debate in my mind, encourage laziness of expression, but also some feedback that could be meaningful, if the posts were one-idea only posts...).

There is one bad thing about lichess. I tried to count to one million. lichess closed this thread. 1.2.3. Why? counting is related to chess!
